The Mas
Nestled in the heart of the charming village of Générargues, within the Cévennes National Park, our Mas tells a rich and authentic story. The oldest part dates back to the 17th century, while the 1855 extension adds a touch of timeless charm.
The property was once a magnanerie, a traditional silkworm farm. Nearby, a traditional clède—once used for drying chestnuts—still stands as a witness to this vibrant past.
The house is surrounded by over 5 hectares of wooded grounds, arranged in bancels (small terraces reinforced by dry-stone walls).
The land is home to more than 50 species of trees, including the black locust (false acacia), which gave the Mas its name: drulhier in Occitan.

Our swimming pool (11x5m) invites you to take a refreshing break while admiring the stunning Cévennes landscapes.
Discreetly located just a few steps from the Mas, with total privacy (no overlooked views), it blends perfectly into the typical Cévenol architecture.

Are swimming pool towels provided?
Yes. Pool towels are provided upon simple request upon arrival to lighten your luggage.
What are the opening dates for the pool?
The pool is traditionally open from early May to late September, depending on weather conditions. Please contact us outside this period for confirmation.
Is the swimming pool heated?
No, the pool is not heated. In accordance with our eco-responsible commitment, we favor passive and natural heating by the sun of the Gard region. It generally reaches a very pleasant temperature from May to September.
Is the pool secured for children?
Yes, the pool is secured by a standard fence for family peace of mind. Child supervision remains the responsibility of the parents.
Are there any time restrictions for pool access?
No, there are no strict opening hours for the pool. You are free to enjoy it at your leisure. We only ask you to be courteous and respect the tranquillity of other guests.
Where can I park my car or motorbike?
A private car park is available near the Mas. Property access is secured by a gate with a digital code.
A covered and locked parking area is available for motorbikes.
Where can I store my bicycle safely?
A covered and locked room is available for 2-wheeled vehicles.
Can we come by public transport?
Yes. The best way is to arrive by train at Alès station and then take a bus to Générargues. There is a stop 300 m from the Mas.
Are there shops or restaurants nearby?
Yes, 100 m from the Mas, you will find fuel, tobacco, groceries, and a bread deposit at the service station.
A pizzeria is open year-round at 400 m.
In Anduze, 5 km away, there are many shops and restaurants.
Are we far from the Bambouseraie and Anduze?
No, our location is ideal! Mas des Druilles is located in Générargues:
For the Bambouseraie (Bamboo Garden): You are only a 15-minute walk (1 km) away. It is a direct and pleasant access.
For Anduze: The town is 5 minutes by car (5 km) away. And you can take the Steam Train of the Cévennes from the Bambouseraie, whose terminals are in Anduze and Saint-Jean-du-Gard.
